Oven Carmel Corn!

Oven Carmel Corn! - Horton Creek Inn, Bed & Breakfast/Charlevoix, MI

3 3/4 quarts  Popped corn

1 cup              Brown sugar

1/2 cup          Margarine

1/4 cup          Corn syrup

1/2 tsp.          Salt

1/2 tsp           Baking soda

Mix sugar, butter, syrup & salt in large sauce pan.

Heat & cook until it bubbles around edges. Then cook 4-5 more minutes,

Watching not to burn. It will be a deep golden color.  

Remove from heat and stir in soda completely. Stir well until light and fluffy.

Pour over popped corn in oven ready pan. Stir to coat evenly.

Bake 1 hour stirring at 15 minute intervals. Spread out to cool.
